In June 2011 I left my Government job in Broome and discovered very quickly that without the benefits of a subsidy (GROH), housing affordability in town was out of control. To that end I convinced my wife that we could share with others - a hit and miss activity involving daily reviews of the local notice boards and an unhealthy desire for Thursdays to role around so that I could get my hands on the latest 'Broome Advertiser'. With this experience as a starting point, the idea of the 'BroomeCupboard' continued to grow. Garage Sales were the next obvious area for inclusion as they are an institution in Broome. While cardboard boxes on street corners provide an exciting treasure map for early morning bargain hunters, I was finding that I could never get to them on time. I battled to work out where they were and what they were selling. They have now been included with a map that can be printed for easy reference. Anyway, I hope the site is of some use to you.
